How To Cope With Negative Self-Talk

The Pandemic brought with it a new way of working and we eventually adjusted. Now, as we move into another transition period of hybrid work, you may find yourself required to be in the office a few days a week. With the demands of juggling work and home, you may be experiencing negative self-talk.

“I feel terrible that I will not be able to make it home in time to cook dinner - I am a terrible parent.”

This downward spiral of negative self-talk can be debilitating. As you find the inner critic’s voice getting louder and louder, try this 3- step process to gently sway your negative self/talk:

  1. PAUSE take a deep long breath and feel your feet grounded to the earth

  2. Ask yourself, is this statement absolutely 100% true? Am I really a terrible parent?

  3. Ask yourself, how is the opposite true? How am I a wonderful parent? As you reflect, you will find more and more evidence to prove this statement to be true
